In recognition of commitment to diversity, Raytheon Australia was awarded the prestigious Australia Capital Territory Chief Minister’s Inclusion Award of Excellence on Thursday, 22 October 2009.
The prize acknowledges the organisation that has best demonstrated an outstanding commitment to encourage, welcome and support people with a disability in their workplace.
The company won the award for Inclusion in the medium to large businesses category and also took out the highest award, the prestigious 2009 Chief Ministers Award for Excellence. These awards were in recognition of the company’s long-standing partnership with disability services provider, Koomari, and the seven year employment of Chris McMurray, who has Down Syndrome, in the company’s national headquarters in Canberra.
The company was also acknowledged for it’s continued support of community initiatives such as the Junior Special Olympics and the Down Syndrome Association.
